I added a single night’s hotel onto flights I needed to book simply because there is a decent chance of cancellation and I didn’t want to buy a flexible ticket but stick with the bargain-basement CW flights. Interestingly the total price came to about £200 less than the same flights bought alone (£2.4k vs £2.6k) but will still earn slightly more nTPs due to the whole spend being eligible. The advantage to me in this case is only having to forfeit the deposit if cancelled.
