That is a starting point... and I'd also be looking for a goodwill gesture for the trouble also for the two of you. I'd submit a complaint after your flight. Do they even have you on the upgrade list for tomorrow with appropriate priority (should be 1/2 assuming there aren't other downgrades of higher status pax) ?

Well, we coincidentally came for my niece’s college graduation, and the city seems packed with graduates/parents. We are on the 1:55pm DL0747 flight. And as to being on the upgrade list, it’s a fiasco. I am on the list for delta one, not my family member. And neither of us are on the list for ps or comfort plus. I’ve called a couple of times to no avail. Hoping it gets sorted out at the airport, but not optimistic.
Am completely baffled by how they chose who to downgrade though …
