I have only done that twice when AS or TK couldn’t get me boarding passes online and I had a lengthy connection. In both cases I used the Amex Centurion Lounge, not an airline branded lounge.

You don’t have to be an elite to get money from a non-refundable back into your AS wallet, as far as I know.

I don’t really see how this new policy is different from the current policy. Hasn’t it been true all along that if you no-show, the rest of your itinerary will be canceled?
