I went back into OLCI with my Taiwanese mindset, all ready to defeat the system as advices by Percy, and the message had changed. Instead of insisting on visa details, it now wanted me to check a box to confirm I had a ticket back again.

(I’m in ICN on a side ticket nested into 2 other tickets). Made much more sense.
Just for posterity for anyone going to TPE - if you're doing the OLCI on the app to TPE, you'll not be able to go on after the passport information bit (the button will be greyed out). What you'll have to do is to press back, and then the said box asking you to confirm a return ticket will now appear after you've filled out your passport details, and then it'll allow you to move forward.

It's a really silly design, but necessary to point out here since the workaround really takes 5 seconds to do.
