Question: Can I change the last name on my 2 international trips in advance? It would be from a different airport (CMH) than the one I am departing from (CVG). I bought the tickets through AA but all 4 flights on July ticket are on BA. My November trip is AA and BA from CMH.

Back story:
I contacted AA online to change the last name on my account due to marriage. What a breeze, it only took an hour from the time I filled out the form, submitted the documents, and they changed my account name.

This didn't change the last name on my tickets, though. I called the Gold Member line and waited on hold for over 2 hours..... then I get Ben. He tells me they can't change the name on my tickets over the phone. I have my new passport, so my old one that is attached to these tickets is invalid. Both of my tickets involve BA flights. He cautioned me that if I do this the day of travel.... if the agent doesn't change the name "fast enough," that BA could re-sell the ticket out from under me and I would have to rebook for another day.

The agent couldn't tell me if I can do this name change in advance or if I have to wait until the day of my flight. Does anyone know the answer? What he told me has me stressed out!
