my experience was live chat is quite positive, admittedly i've only ever used it to change FF numbers on my bookings but it definitely saved me the tedious phone calls
In that case it must by all those pesky GGLs with Group Zero privileges barging past me in the queue
As a follow-up, I went back into chat and it's taken 33 minutes to TCP two bookings. Part of the challenge was data protection. BA seemingly truncates the credit card name so the information provided for payment isn't what's recorded in the booking. I was asked to provide the name on the card used for my wife's booking. It's my first name and my last name with no initials or salutation. However, on the booking it's apparently Mr. followed by the initial letter of my first name and then my last name. So telling the agent that it's "Geordie 405" didn't pass data protection. However, Mr G. 405 did. I actually had to go and find the e-ticket confirmation to work out what was going on. I understand the need for data protection but this if BA decides to record something other than the actual cardholder name it's hardly going to be intuitive when you need to speak with them!
