No, DEL is not final destination. My post is very clear, just a 3-hour layover at DEL.

It is DOH-DEL (AI), DEL-KTM (AI), then further down to Southeast Asia on another flight (Star Alliance). No check-in luggage unless forced upon.

I thought it is very simple transit since there is no check-in luggage. As long as no exit at airport, no transit visa should be required. AI sees the entire multi-leg itinerary. A single reservation reference number. I think my original post is incorrect on the "two" separate AI tickets. It should be one since AI sees all flight segments.

Do not want to apply for e-visa unless there is any need.
