On flight 243 today, a late-boarding passenger put a small purse-like bag overhead between two rollerbags, leaving the bin open. The passenger wound up being literally the last to sit down. Seconds later when the mid-cabin FA came by, she removed the small bag, handed it to the passenger (and possibly told her to put it under the seat in front of her, I was 10 rows back and couldn't hear), closed the overhead bin, and proceeded aft. Pushback occurred seconds later.

For the life of me I can't figure why the FA did that. I really wanted to ask, but I didn't.
