Today although the phone said it was only 2 degrees cooler than yesterday(26 compared to 28 celsius) thanks to the overcast high cloud layer it was a lot more comfortable.
went to togetsukyo bridge in the arashiyama area.though the area is very attractive it was crowded.
the sagano scenic railway leaves from thereabouts in the cafe in the station they have three steam engines which are free to look around
went to tenryuji temple which is very nice but was busy also though they had 2 smaller gardens /temples which were open for a limited period but which were empty of people and very good
went via the bamboo forest which was impressive but crowded though it moved reasonably freely.
Walked to daikakuji temple which was very impressive and virtually deserted. Walked round the adjacent osawa pond (more of a lake)only seeing 1 other person and having great views across the pond of some of the temple buildings and compared to the masses at tenryuji was so peaceful
went back via nijo castle which was very busy but had some beautiful.replicas of the interior decorations
Leaving for nara tomorrow afternoon
