Flight was delayed nearly an hour in rolling 10 / 15 minute increments because, as the very proactive captain said "we're missing some of the items from catering".
This is the new caterer out of SFO, and it was pretty bad.
- I did the short rib roulette and lost. It tasted okay, what I ate of it, it was very chewy. Sadly didn't remember to take a pic of it, was too engrossed in episode 3 of Dope Thief. LOL!
- They didn't have pretzel rolls (tribal gripe)
- They didn't cater Ice cream - I don't eat it, but I'm sure some people were unhappy
- They didn't have any of the Illy Cold Brew - that bummed me out
- The didn't cater any of the Oatmeal arrival meal - so I asked for a breakfast tray with fruit and croissant, they brought me a quiche. I tried to give it back, but she walked away too quickly.
- I think the little ramekin of nuts is smaller now with the new dishs. Which is a shame, because even with the new mix, it is one of the most consistent items in the service and something I like very much. Side note, I'm not a fan of pecans, I'm cool with pretzels. Kind of sad that they seem to be trying to lower the cost profile of that by adding cheaper things and now shrinking the size.
- on a positive note, looks like the button hole is back with the new napkins (pic below)
So, is that really 3 whole potatoes just plopped on the tray? Can't imagine they have any seasoning of note on them. What is that about?
And the fruit cubes look so sad.
I hope the SFO catering gets straightened out quickly. Seems like thy are really bungling it badly.
Significant delays all over, and they aren't getting it right anyway.
