My ultimate reaction to the Conrad Bahrain is positive - in exchange for a typical lounge, you get an all-suite property where the suites are really serviced residences. Of course, I have no need for the residence amenities, but I can see how some would value these. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded from City View Suite to Sea View Suite (base room here is City View Suite)
- Comfortable living room couch
- Bed is generally comfortable - slightly firm (and maybe a tad bouncy) mattress, plush pillows, covers of decent plushness for climate
- Shower pressure from the rainfall head is good
- Yummy chocolates and sliced fruits in welcome gift
- Nice views and automated curtains
- Turndowns completed automatically - given a sleep mask
- Breakfast at Sushisamba is wonderful - delicious eggs royale and hashbrowns, great chocolate cake, great barista coffee
Neutral:
- No physical lounge - there is a Diamond happy hour from 5 to 7 in the cigar lounge that I can’t comment on as I didn’t attend - trousers for men are required
Cons:
- Not a huge fan of the stone flooring, but that’s a personal preference
I would come back as I care more about breakfast quality than the presence of an all-day lounge.
