UA embracing screens under Kirby speaks volumes.
Having a well equipped Y cabin, tech wise, also distracts passengers from the continued densification of cabins (great example being UA’s A321neo).
For years DL had some of the densest Y cabins in narrow bodies, but they had in seat screens and passengers didn’t seem to mind. (Of course then AA came out with the Oasisfied 738 and beat all others on cabin density, and with no bells and whistles to help soften the blow.)
