If you have a same-ticket connection (I.e., EWR-OSL-ARN on the same ticket), there is a transfer gate near the top of the stairs (before going down to the baggage claim area). If you go through that e-gate, you will not go out and re-enter through security again.
There is a separate Schengen and domestic area at OSL.

Just to confirm. Arriving on SAS from EWR next week continuting to ARN. I will have to go thourgh security again. I know at CPH it is only passport, no new security check is required.
