I’m sorry you are experiencing the same issues I had!
One thing to check - when you found “I” availability, were you using the correct point of sale location? I remember seeing different availability when I left it as the default in ExpertFlyer vs putting in Spain (which was the correct point of sale location for me).
Also, when you called, did the agent actually refer to the ticketing/fare desk? In my experience, it was only after the agent spoke to someone in ticketing (who was more familiar with the rules), that they were able to get back to me with the right response!

Last September (120 day advanced purchase), I booked MXP-LHR-IAD, DCA-ORD-SAN, SFO-LHR-BCN - all in business for ~$2,400 per pax (3 pax).
I’ve flown the MXP-LHR-IAD portion.
Now I need to change the date of the DCA-ORD-SAN segments from May to late June. I’m flexible on the dates and have found plenty of options with I availability. I don’t want to make any changes to the last legs, which are on BA metal (AA codeshare) for mid-July.
I’ve called 3 times and have gotten quotes ranging from “I can’t make any changes” to $3,000 per ticket.
I found this thread, just curious if anyone else has had any more recent experiences like this and found any better way to get it resolved?
