I’m in a similar boat: Flying out on the 21st and back on the 27th to attend a wedding. My flights are still showing on schedule in My Trips. And, UA’s travel alert is still only through May 18. Israel sent a delegation to Qatar yesterday to renew negotiations. I find it odd that the waiver hasn’t at least been updated. It makes me wonder if UA is holding off temporarily on officially removing the flights from the system to see how the next couple of days go? Perhaps they want to be well-positioned to quickly pivot if any form of cease-fire is announced. (I hope I’m not being delusional for multiple reasons.)
I’ve all but decided that if my flight departs, I’ll be on it (EWR chaos notwithstanding). If not, I will send my regrets to the bride and groom, with the hope of rescheduling my trip later in the year. I just need to cancel my hotel reservation by 5/19.
