Let’s talk about the new Sheraton - if you’re looking for modern, you’ll find it here - here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded before arrival to an Executive Suite
- Design is light and modern (well, minus the bathroom - it’s dark) - it feels very new Sheraton
- Bed is great - plush mattress, plush covers, plush pillows
- Great views all around, especially of the Bahrain World Trade Centre
- Living room couch was comfortable
- Cute box of baklava provided as welcome gift
- No issue with 4 PM late checkout
- Evening lounge service from 5:30 to 8 had good red velvet cake as dessert
- Breakfast offered in lounge or restaurant without welcome gift choice - restaurant breakfast taste was very nice - great cheese omelet and French toast made-to-order, good cardamom coffee, machine coffee for other beverages was strong and good for a machine, good hashbrowns and cheese samosas
Neutral:
- Attached mall has lots of empty stores and those that exist are low-traffic boutiques for fashion
- Some of the folks at breakfast service could be more proactive as I had to go up to someone to place my order after waiting a bit and you can’t order at the kitchen itself (even for an omelet)
Cons:
- Shower pressure was not good
- Shower door did not prevent water from getting out
- Lack of accessible outlets by the bed - have to unplug alarm clock or phone to get an available bedside outlet
