I love to moan about T3 but it isn't that bad, not really. Well, mostly not that bad, but it does depend on timings. If your departure is at the same time as a bank of Ryanair flights then T3 security can be a miserable experience but, to be quite frank, that's because of the passengers as much as anything. I was stuck behind one not so long ago who was FEWMIN because he couldn't take his litre bottle of vodka in his hand luggage.

Much the same as Newcastle in that regard, tbh.
