I know discussion has been almost primarily about premium award (or partners) with the value per redeemed mile can get pretty high versus the cash price, but as always, I am looking at the Main Cabin award tickets.
Is the dynamic award chart one-way minimum really 7.5k miles? Has anyone seen domestic one-way awards that go below that?
What is interesting and probably noticed by many, but not discussed widely is I can find cross-country routes under 10k/12.5k, sometimes even if the cash price is not very low. I mean, this is how dynamic is supposed to work, not always charge more, but if there is low demand, drop the price. I don't find this type of value with UA or WN frankly currently. I think the very weak travel season due to whatever situations is making it interesting in the short-term. As long as an airline has plenty of partners, capacity and routes, being a selling miles revenue company (like Disney is really in the hotel business concept) is not a terrible situation. Of course, cash prices are getting low on some routes too which is not a terrible situation, but miles tickets have way more flexibility than revenue tickets.
