I guess my point is that my expectations are set by BA's first wing and other OW F check-in experiences where you certain don't just get dumped unceremoniously into a queue with all the others.

I'm also pretty sure for the right amount of money they could arrange a dedicated lane for F pax without pre that was physically separated from the rest. It clearly wouldn't be pre still, but it would be a notable improvement in the experience and go some way towards making intl-dom connections at JFK more attractive routings.
