duplicate hotel booking, in case preferred leaves chain
There have been threads about a hotel leaving its chain (or otherwise cancelling a traveler's reservation) with no warning to the customer. Does anyone here routinely or even infrequently make two reservations at two different properties to avoid this risk? It seems like a lot of work, since the duplicate reservation would need to be cancelled (presumably after confirming the preferred reservation is still valid), but arriving and having no room would be a lot of inconvenience.
