Often exEU tickets have higher carrier imposed fees and can have stricter change/cancel rules that an exUSA RT to Europe would have.
For check in and immigration, have a hard copy of the return ticket (receipt with ticket number) and PNR, although no one is likely to ask unless something looks suspicious. I'd do this even if the entry rules don't require a RT ticket.
