If the TPAC flights are KE operated anyway, then of course one should opt for the nonstop to ICN, especially if it leaves from T4 at JFK so that the D1 lounge could be used. However, based on my experiences, I would personally prefer to minimize my time on KE operated flights regardless of codeshare/earning issues.

Maybe connecting to D1 at DTW would make sense if there's a DL-operated DTW-ICN nonstop. Or maybe BOS might be an option?
