I'm also a New Yorker, and I am a loyal Delta flier. I do visit Singapore about once a year for work. Take it with a grain of salt, but I have heard from some Delta execs that they plan to add A35K service to Singapore from LAX in 2026 or 2027. That would be awesome if they do. For now, I would recommend Singapore Airlines for service, food and convenience, but a caution on their business class seats. Depending on how tall you are (I am 6'2''), I find the angle of the Singapore business seats to be so awkward for sleeping that it's uncomfortable. I do know they are refitting them starting in 2026 with new business class seats, and even adding first class. Anywho, just my thoughts.
