4x on airfare makes it difficult to say the Amex plat is the better option for that spend as 4 Chase points are pretty close in value to 5 Amex points. Losing the 3x on misc travel is rough there’s a ton of parking, tolls, trains, cruises, etc that will be lost.

The increase in annual fee and additional coupons to offset is a net negative, the portals are traps with not earning and receiving hotel status benefits, inflexible change policy for flights, etc…
