The most shambolic boarding process I think I've ever seen yesterday at LPA.
Many families with young children and 8 rows of CE on this flight. Travelling with my OH (Group 0 by being same booking as me) and friend who is Gold travelling in CE, so Group 1.
Single gate agent announces boarding "Starting with Group 0 and Group 1" whereupon a mass of people descend on the agent. We were about 20 back by this time and looking around it was clear that no control was going to be applied - lots of blue and bronze boarding passes. Agent was happy just to process all boarding passes. No priority of any kind including for families with small children etc.
Disappointing and this added to later questioning of why I bother flying with BA : a very, very dirty interior and overhead bin carnage due to so many people bringing numerous large bags onboard. Cabin crew doing a good job trying to accomodate but they looked very frustrated by it all.
I suspect if I'd gone U2 and paid for priority boarding it would at least have been delivered.
