Of course - to get what was standard before, you have to buy up to Comfort+, Economy+ or Main Cabin Extra, whatever it's called.
Is the buy up price equivalent to the old price?
Almost certainly if you take inflation into account... but when it comes to airfares many folks don't want that to apply!
