Agreed losing the 3X on all travel related stuff will suck. I travel internationally extensively and this has been my go to card for all things travel/dining related since 2016. I can't tell you how many points I have accumulated and then transferred to Hyatt for stays in SE Asia over the last 5 years but it's a LOT. I will miss that perk and most likely will either cancel CSR or put most of my spending back to Amex Plat. Right now it's about 75/25 CSR to Plat. I can see that reversing in 2026 if they do indeed make these changes.
I’m not excited about these changes either, but for me, the only thing worth spending on the Plat is airfare (and after that, whatever I need to do to hit various credits). And if the CSR goes to 4x on airfare, I’ll have to think long and hard if it’s even worth keeping the Plat.
As for other travel, I guess it will be Hyatt for local transit and commuting, and UA Club or Quest for everything else, although only 2x of their respective currencies.
