If anyone has any advice or recommendations, please share, thank you.
Both Amanyangyun and Amanfayun are architecturally stunning, with a strong emphasis on Chinese heritage and design. As both are located slightly outside the city center, your decision may depend on how much time you plan to spend exploring versus relaxing at the property.
The Peninsula Shanghai, by contrast, is right on the Bund (WaiTan), placing you in the heart of the city. While it can feel a bit overwhelming just outside the hotel, the location is ideal for first-time visitors—and some rooms offer iconic views of Pudong.
Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake also highlights traditional Chinese architecture and offers a serene, lakeside setting just beyond the city’s core.
If you're looking to unwind and enjoy a more tranquil experience, the out-of-city options provide a peaceful escape and a deeper connection to local culture.
