EWR Strategy: How Real is Meltdown / Backups Getting Cancelled
First, how real is the EWR meltdown and any insights on how long will it last? Like many on here, I have dozens of flights over the next several months in and out of Newark and wondering what to do to try to manage that. The job of the press is to sell ads, not to inform anymore, so I am often skeptical.
Second, I have started looking at backup / protection flights. For example, instead of starting a work trip flying to Newark, going to Boston first. BUT, if I book a backup flight to BOS around the time of an existing EWR flight the system cancels. Is there any way to manage this? Or do we all need to start looking at other carriers? Is that the solute for the next period of time.
