Basic economy on AA typically is much more generous than United. It’s likely just AA’s terrible IT versus some nefarious plot to irritate customers. It really shouldn’t have taken so long to fix though. But hey you got seats a single person would’ve had to pay for, so 🤷🏻‍♂️
