DP for United Business Card application. Current stats for Biz cards with Chase are 1x Ink Unlimited for Business #1 opened way back in 2012 as another Ink product and changed to an Unlimited in 2018 and 1x Ink Preferred for Business #2 opened early August 2024. I do have a very generous combined credit limit of $75k ($30k and $45k) for these 2 cards.
I decided to try for the New United Biz card on 5/4 due to the elevated sign up bonus which was ending on 5/7. I applied for Business #2. Application went into review. I was having a very busy week and didn't have time to call in to check on the status. 5/7 they posted a letter to my account stating that they could not approve the card for the following reasons:
- Too much available credit (I'm perfectly ok with them moving credit from another card which I've done plenty of times in the past to get a card approved and sometimes they've done it automatically for me but in this case they didn't)
- New Chase business card recently opened (so I guess 9 months is still considered recent in their book, but really not in mine
)
P2 applied for a chase Ink Cash card at the beginning of May and got the same exact 2 reasons for denial. Her last Chase biz card was the Ink Preferred opened 11 months ago. There is an Ink Cash that was closed more than a year ago but is still showing in her online account. I think she may have the same issue as you did. Can you please share which number or department at Chase that you talked to that finally fixed your issue? Thanks.
