I have never heard this since the time after 9/11 - however if one is in 1A or 1C on those A320s that have no bulkhead nor 1D or 1F - there can be all sorts hanging around waiting for the toilet and it extremely irritating. I have to say that I agree that this could be very route orientated. I could well imagine it to anywhere in the Canaries, the Balearics, ALC, AGP, VLC or FAO come instantly to mind.

What embarrasses me even more is the complete lack of language skills or requirements chez BA. I would bet the house that those announcements were made in English only..
