maybe an update for our wiki:
yesterday I had my flight from Paris to Beijing PEK. On arrival in PEK, I noticed that nobody was waiting for me at jetway. Since last time I had the fantastic service in the full scale (on arrival: awaited in jetway and escorted through immigration, wait with you at baggage claim and accompanied to taxi, ref.: wiki above), I was confusing and asked the colleagues of AF. Their response surprised me: they mean that they do not provide such special service for Ultis on arrival. Currently they only provide this service for departure. For arrival, they only have the info to "pay more attention" on Ultis, except that Ultis ask them proactive for these service. Well, it seems like "pay more attention" means now literally "nothing special" without proactive request?
Btw, we had fantastic cabin crew on the flight to Beijing, very impressive / professional.
Btw: next week I will fly back from PEK to CDG. Wondering which service I will receive on departure

Few weeks ago, I flew AMS-PEK with KLM.
I was expecting a nice Ultimate arrival experience, but since I was not familiar with Beijing, I also asked the Conrad Beijing hotel for an airport transfer (cost ~110€).
On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel staff waiting with the hotel sign at the exit of the jet bridge and I was then escorted through immigration, baggage claim, customs, then ending to the car outside the airport.
I even forgot that I should have expected an Ultimate escort, but I now realize that there was nothing to expect!
For the same price, I used the same airport transfer service for departure (I flew a different Skyteam airline that does not recognize Ultimate): I got escorted from the car to checking, immigration, ending to the airline lounge (no escort to the gate).
