Last two times arriving into BOM and getting into an Uber in the parking garage official Uber pickup area, have noticed a few arriving travelers (both Desi-looking and Gore-looking) with luggage waiting and boarding Ubers outside of the garage near the big right-turn curve at the airport exit.

Have wondered is this an advanced BOM airport travel-hack worth trying? What path are they following to get to this area? Are they saving time/$ by doing this? Is it safe? Are Ubers allowed to pickup here?
