Resurfacing an old thread to share my experience and options for replacement baggage. Didn't see a wiki or thread anywhere so thought it might be helpful

Flew YYZ to YVR Tuesday night. Half of a wheel on my Amazon Basics large check in hardshell broke off. Filed report with Baggage agents at airport, received option to select from Air Canada's catalog to replace the bag today (Thursday).

Considering that my Amazon suitcase is still functional, but risky with half a wheel, I feel it is more than fair compensation
