Chaos at Dulles yesterday as the BD 702 was cancelled, it seems they were re-routing people on United through LHR and Lufthansa through FRA.

I was lucky as I decided to route to MAN through LHR on the UA 918 and got bumped to F to make way for the BMI passengers. Talking to a couple of pax at the gate they were very unhappy with BMI no explanation no customer service at Dulles. Also they all conections to MAN were full yesterday so they had to transfer by coach to MAN!

Is it me or is this happening a bit to often?

One of the main reason I am back to flying UA even with the hassle of having to transfer at LHR is that I have a pretty good guarantee of getting home. The last four reutrns I have flown with BMI (MAN - ORD - MAN) I have missed my connection, as a 1K UA milieage plus flyer UA have been fantastic and got me home each time. I wonder what would be the case if I had no status with UA. I get the feeling I would be in the same position as the pax yesterday, or even flying home 24 hours late.

I get the feeling BMI are less comitted now to their long haul plans from MAN especially to serve buisiness customers in my opinion choosing LAS at a "west coast" routing only confirmed this.
