I found the Hyatt Regency Al Kout Mall to be a pleasant property - though, admittedly, the location is out of the way. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded to a suite before arrival
- Comfortable living room furniture
- Bed was comfortable - medium mattress, plush pillows, covers not too plush but fine for Middle East climate
- Shower pressure was good
- No issue with late checkout - though, I ended up not needing it
- Breakfast in restaurant and was good - expected Middle East buffet and made-to-order eggs
- No lounge - but offered drinks and pastries in lobby lounge - very good, did not show up on bill, unclear how many times you would be able to use this benefit (I used it once)
- Attached mall is nice and has a nice Italian restaurant for pizza
Neutral:
- Initial assigned suite had window in the bedroom, but bedroom seemed to be very warm and could not hear AC working in bedroom - quickly switched to the windowless bedroom suite type which had strong AC
Cons:
- Noise isolation in room wasn’t amazing - could hear others at times if I wasn’t listening to something
- Shower door wasn’t great at keeping water from leaking out on to bathroom floor
