Economy Class K - Seat selection rules and cost.

From: Toronto To: Frankfurt
During CHECK-IN for the above flight, will I get a seat automatically assigned to me, or, will I be allowed to select a seat my self at no cost. Or, what the seat policy is stating? The ticket is Economy Class (K).
Before check-in the cost of a seat for K class is $ 80 /$ 100 .
