I am travelling to Singapore from UK. Usually I fly with Qatar and use my BAEC number to claim avios and tier points due to the cost of the flight. Now, the BA flight costs have come down more in line with Qatar, but still more expensive, so I was looking at the benefit of flyign with them instead.

When I use Avios and Tier points calculator on BA's website, the tier points are much the same (3700 for QR and 3400 for BA) but the avios earned on BA is around 22k (GLA - LHR - SIN) with Qatar only 8k (EDI - DOH - SIN). Is this correct?
