Only downside is redemption went up from 17.5K miles last year.
Do you think this means they fixed the glitch of 0 bags then? I just booked an award ticket with Delta for NRT-DPS for 2 passengers. The email confirmation says "not allowed" for 1st checked bag and 2nd checked bag. The Delta chat agent said "Thank you for your understanding, and I sincerely apologize for the confusion. While I checked your reservation on my end, it appears to be empty, and you will need to reach out to them directly."
I wonder if the empty fields translate to 0 bags instead of "null".
After reaching out with Garuda, the chat agent said, "We will help you check if the regulation from Garuda Indonesia is 23 kg, but because the ticket number was issued by Delta Airlines, please coordinate directly with Delta Airlines."
So at this point I am hoping I can check one bag. I assume the worst case scenario is to pay by kg like other people have in the past in NRT, or have others been completely denied and had to store luggage?
Lastly, has anyone been able to get seat assignments on the award tickets? The Garuda chat agent said it's assigned upon check-in, and when I asked if I could pay for seat assignments, the agent said, "The payment process can use only local Indonesian Bank debit (ATM, m-banking, internet banking)."
Do the majority of passengers have unassigned seats until check-in? I'm hoping if that is the case, then groups will be assigned together if there are more empty rows initially.
