Virtually all airport shops were shuttered and I eventually found the underwhelming OneWorld lounge. There were only four semi-hot dishes offered; lasagna, chicken wings, vegetable curry and Korean mochi stew. No desserts save for mini-tarts. No beer on tap.

The lowest tier Qatar Silver Doha lounge tops this.

Fortunately my first ever QSuite flight redeemed the pre-departure experience. Breakfast and the main meal included Korean specialties, seafood porridge (chuuk) at breakfast complemented with dried fish and Kim chi appropriatly toned down for Western palates - overall so-so. The winner was the vegetable chapchae dumplings garnished with kale and topped with a tangy miso vinaigrette sauce - non-vegetarians should give it a try.

I liked the compact faux leather amenity kit compared to the two compartment version I got last year.

I had to a lot of squinting to see the small seat control buttons. Inflight pajamas were provided, comfortable and they did have my size. However I'm not a fan of the slightly scratcy mixed cotton/synethic fabric. But the proportionally sized slippers are a winner.

After a 3-hour stopover in Doha I connected onward on to CMN. I paid 72k Avios points plus $513.22 for the two legs, quite a deal for a combined 18 hours flying.
do you have a picture of the menu by chance? Also flying this route in a few weeks
