What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Amb

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes - really nice upgrade and very friendly staff at reception.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Queen Standard. Received King Premium Sea View (I think)

How are the rooms?
Very nice indeed. Lots of room, newly renovated but in a style that matches the building. Good air-conditioning (once I'd worked out how it operates). Great bathroom with natural light and even had a toothbrush charger.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good - Great check-in and check-out. Marco Pierre White restaurant in the hotel which served a very good breakfast but mediocre evening meal for the money (service was bad) - a shame as the Indigo Durham's MPW restaurant was excellent. About 10-15 minute drive to the Channel Tunnel the next morning. Lovely walk along the cliffs.
Bad - water took some time to get hot. Wifi was very slow (4.46mbps per Speedtest). I was lucky on parking but there are limited spaces available in front of the hotel (£8 until midday the following day)

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Definitely would return. I paid £98.10 flexible which I thought was good for such a nicely renovated hotel.
