Canopy was in a great location, right beside Grand Everbright City, the Pagodas and Chang An 12 hours(?). I apologise if i butcher the names, it's been a while and I am simply translating from the Mandarin version to english by myself. Service was so-so but the rooms and facilities and top tier, although the room lightings are preset which is a little annoying. But the location is perfect, with shopping, food and tourist attractions all within 5-10mins walk. Breakfast is good but you may have to wait if you arrive during peak timings.

Sofitel Legend had a nice little charm to it with a historic courtyard. Taking a stroll around after dinner was lowkey therapeutic. Service staff is good, flawless but nothing outstanding. Rooms were little more rundown considering the historic location, my room had a few creaky floorboards but that is all. Breakfast is good I would say better than Canopy's but with less variety and a much better atmosphere. Also, it is mainly an ala carte buffet which personally i prefer. Location wise it is a 30min walk to the bell tower with nothing of note around, so I simply took a taxi everywhere. Happy hour food was pretty good but it's the drinks that stand out for me. The better restaurants weren't open the day i went so i used my $100 credits on afternoon tea which is decent.

If i were to go again i think i will lean towards Canopy simply for the location. Being able to walk out for supper is a massive plus for me. And i didn't find anything special about Sofitel Legend. They are a great 5 star hotel but as far as Sofitel Legends go, it is still a distance away from Amsterdam and Hanoi's.
