I have to agree that IPC is worth seeing...I 've been countless times and I have to say it's probably the most magical and unique place i've visited.
Regarding configurations, I'm flying SCL-LAX tomorrow on CC-BBH with the new config and the plane actually does the SCL-IPC-SCL turn before heading to LAX. In my experience LA602 usually has been flown after the plane makes an IPC turn, but not sure how reassuring that might be for future flights.
