The ticket was already paid for prior to the involuntary reroute. As explained several times above, there is no automatic repricing by UA under such circumstances, either up or down.
yes - should have said “would have”. Regardless, OP got the 10k discount. Just not the repricing of the ticket. Issue is United’s policy not losing the voucher.
