My wife and I are travelling to Langkawi next month on BA33, arriving at KUL at 1720 then flying MH to LGK the following morning at 0930. We've booked to stay in the main Sama Sama hotel (landside) for the transit.

Can we request that our bags aren't checked through to LGK so we can pick them up in KUL then check them back in the following morning, or will BA have to check them all the way through as the LGK flight is on the same booking? I'd much prefer to treat them as two separate flights, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

Can anyone shed any light on this please? Thank you!
As general policy, BA allows you to reclaim bags if there is an overnight stop (AA and QR tend to be reluctant to allow it on any stop under 24 hours), so I don't think reclaiming at KUL will be a problem.
