I'm on standby for Etihad EY77 scheduled to arrive at 07:05, and was wondering if I could make a separate booking with BA on to LHR scheduled for 07:55?

Thanks,
You have no chance.

bear in mind you will have to go landside since you must go through immigration. Once landside it’s a 5 minute walk to t3. Then obviously thro security and to the gate. Boarding starts at 0725 and closes around 0740-0745.

Actually if you are on time and everything is fine (no queue at immigration, ft and no queue at security) you may just make it. Also you may get lucky, it seems ey77 is sometimes 15-30 minutes early arriving.
