My question is, what would have happened if we had missed QR31 because if we hadn't seen the tram and even trying to run to zone C we wouldn't have made the departure. What if we had to have gone through the security section like we did after arriving on QR30 when we had to get the bus from the plane to the terminal?
I guess Qatar will be either delay the out going flight or put us on the later flight to Edinburgh. If they did put us on the later flight that leaves in the morning, how would Qatar deal with the situation, would they offer a place to sleep, would they give food vouchers, would they offer compensation or offer you nothing. I know that with the EU261 you would be compensated for a late arrival into Edinburgh, but Qatar don't come under the EU261 rules but I would be interested in what would have happened if we had missed the connecting flight..
On a side note, we sampled the 787 from Edinburgh to doha , the A380 in the economy upper deck from doha to BKK the 777 from bkk to doha and the A350 from doha to Edinburgh. I have to say that the worst was the 787 and the outstanding plane was the A350. Food and drink wise, it's gone down in my opinion.
Were both flights on the same ticket? If yes, that's quite unusual. Normally, for such tight connections there's usually a QR representative to take you to the next flight.
In case you had missed your second flight (and provided it was on the same ticket), QR would have either rerouted you or if the next flight was the following day, put you in a hotel.
