I do not see the link between size of a fleet and safety. In any case the reduction in the CX fleet has been concentrated in the short and medium haul area. Yes, they have fewer 777-300ERs but they have an almost equal increase in the number of A350s. Personally I am more worried about the safety of any Boeing aircraft than I am about Airbus planes.. It was Boeing that launched the 787 with flammable batteries. It was Boeing that modified the 737 to the point where it can't fly without a computer compensating for the change in centre of gravity, then hid the fact from regulators and customers to claim lower training costs for pilots, and when planes started to crash tried to lay the blame on the ethnicity of pilots. In my opinion all Boeing management and directors involved in this history should be in jail. Next we will have the modified 777 which has to have folding wings amongst other changes that we may not be aware of. It is noteworthy that not one single one has been ordered by a US airline. You will not see me on one for many years. I already refuse to fly on Boeing MAXs. For example, last year I flew from MNL to TBS. The obvious way was via the gulf but I went via IST to avoid flights on 737 MAXs. When the OP flies in the US I wonder if he also refuses to fly on MAXs being so worried about safety.
