lotterhansa gave a perfect description of how to get to the MeinZeil shopping center. There are also designer boutiques within walking distance (if that is what you are after). Don’t forget to get your tax back on your purchases.

We were referring to the mall in Frankfurt called MeinZeil.
You are of course correct re trains to Mainz from the airport.
